Car Hire
Hiring a car on the Costa Calida couldn't be simpler!
Car Hire is essential as the apartment is on phase 3 of the resort.
It is a 40 minute taxi drive from Murcia International Airport at Corvera and will cost around €40 to Roda . . .
… it is a 2.5 km walk to the main entrance
… and a further 2 km walk to the nearest beach and to the bars and restaurants in Los Alcázares.
It will also make life easier and allow you to get out and about to see the beautiful countryside of Murcia, and play those other courses.

At the Airport
There are several hire companies based in Murcia airport including:-
Avis, Budget, Europcar, Firefly and Sixt – with Centauro also close by.
You can book direct with them on the internet but we have found it cheaper to go via one of the “brokers” listed below.

There are a number of hire companies based locally who will deliver to you in the apartment.

Direct Rental versus Brokers
Ibercar and Al Andalus are direct rental companies.
The rest are “brokers” and negotiate deals with all the actual rental companies and offer some great savings rather than going direct.
They offer competitive prices, but it is worth trying them all, including the direct rental companies, as one may have offers on and can be cheaper than the others.
Personal Car Hire Insurance
Most of the rental companies listed above now offer extra insurance for damaged wheels, which has been a major problem in Spain over the last few years as people are taking cars off-road. Also check out whether glass is covered.
It may also be worth purchasing your own insurance before setting off for Spain.

Collection & Drop Off
Cars can sometimes be collected at one airport and returned to another at no extra charge. However, Hertz charge approximately €50 to do this.Rental Issues
Some companies in Spain have had seriously bad press about charging clients for non-existent damage.
All we can advise is that you a) do your own research and b) check the car thoroughly on collection, take photographs and report any damage before you drive away from the airport.
